Gloucestershire Family History Research
Unsolved cases.

Every now and then a client contacts me asking for information about one of their ancestors and after researching for them nothing can be found that will take their family tree back any further. In the hope that someone in the world may have that vital clue that could help them I have posted their details here. Can you help solve their family tree puzzle? If you have the answer I will pass on your details to them.

Case 1.
Mr Allen is looking for the baptism of his ancester William Allen.
William Allen was born around 1773 probably in Saul, Gloucestershire, England

He married Mary Gabb in Saul July 1799 and they had six children:-
Elizabeth - baptised Dec 1799 - died Oct 1801
William - baptised May 1802
Hannah - baptised Mar 1804
Daniel - baptised Aug 1806
Elizabeth - baptised Nov 1809
John - baptised Feb 1812

William Allen died of dropsy at Saul on 9 December 1840 aged 67.

Clues:-
Assuming that his age given by his wife Mary Allen on his death certificate is accurate, that gives us a birth year of 1773.
William Allen's occupation was a carpenter when his son Daniel married Sophia Longney in Gloucester 1838

List of parishes searched so far:-
Arlingham, Awre, Eastington, Frampton on Severn, Fretherne, Hardwick, Longney, Moreton Valence, Newnham, Saul (Bishops Transcript), Standish, Tewkesbury, Whitminster

If anyone out there has any information about William or has any idea where we can look please contact Gloucestershire Roots and we will pass on your contact details to Mr Allen.
